SendOrder.com and Netfish Extend B2B Procurement

Netfish XDI Technology and SendOrder.com Commerce Interchange to Enable Enhanced B2B Collaboration among Partners, Suppliers, and Customers

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif./Aug. 3, 2000 – The SendOrder.com Commerce Interchange, a leading supply chain event management exchange, has expanded its integration capabilities as a result of a broad partnership agreement announced today with Netfish Technologies, a leading provider of XML-based business-to-business integration solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Netfish XDI eProcess solution will be used as the engine to power current versions of SendOrdernLink software, and the two companies will jointly market horizontal order management solutions. SendOrder.com will immediately begin providing this solution to customers, in addition to the SendOrder.com free service which is currently available at http://www.SendOrder.com . The new comprehensive technology licensing and joint marketing agreement unites the strength of the Netfish XML-based B2B process engine, data/document transformation, security and backend integration capabilities with SendOrder.com's Web-based order management hubsite.

The joint solution combines a best-of-breed B2B integration technology as a core component of the Commerce Interchange to provide data transformation, secure document delivery, and optimized integration modules for popular ERP packages. The system will also provide flat-file based integration for flexibility in connecting legacy applications, and a platform for 3rd party integration adapters.

"This agreement marks a major opportunity for any SendOrder.com subscriber to provide an extremely user friendly interface for their trading partners to conduct business transactions electronically," says Steve Mezak, SendOrder.com founder, CEO and CTO. "The Netfish partnership leverages our Commerce Interchange against their world-class XML Hub technology to provide a low-cost B2B service for all purchasing and order fulfillment transactions."

"Today's announcement is the latest example of continuing Net Market operator endorsement of the Netfish XDI eProcess solution," said Ravi Iyer, president and CEO of Netfish Technologies. "SendOrder.com shares our commitment to equip customers with rapid time-to-market solutions and measurable competitive advantage through the deployment of the XDI eProcess platform."

SendOrdernLink provides users of the SendOrder.com Commerce Interchange with the ability to seamlessly send order information to all trading partners directly from their existing ERP or accounting systems while maintaining data security and compliance to current and future industry data standards. Commerce Interchange: Providing Order Visibility SendOrder.com is addressing a complex problem common to buyers and sellers in businesses everywhere: processing of volumes of purchase and sales orders with a diverse set of trading partners. Once a purchase decision has been made, buyers and sellers routinely feel "pain" in accurately placing, expediting, and reconciling orders with a variety of vendors or customers.

To solve this problem, the SendOrder.com service provides businesses with a common, real-time view of all orders as they make their way through various stages of fulfillment. This solution implements a hosted central hub, or portal, where each trading partner uses one connection to send multiple order fulfillment transactions. The Commerce Interchange has four main functions: (1) Transaction Management, (2) Data Translation, (3) Messages and Alerts, and (4) Order History and Archive.
