CIRQUE DU SOLEIL SETS THE STAGE AT THE 74TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS

WHAT:

Cirque du Soleil and principal choreographer Debra Brown will stage a four-minute tribute to a yet to be announced aspect of cinema at Laura Ziskin's production of the 74th Annual Academy Awards®. Thirty aerialists, contortionists and acrobats from eight different countries will present twelve acts from five Cirque du Soleil shows to recognize the art of cinema. The Cirque du Soleil troupe is completing six-days of intensive rehearsals in preparation.

NOTE:

Oscar® Night has been referred to as Hollywood's very own circus. This year,
however, the Cirque du Soleil lent authentic big top credibility to the show with their tribute to visual effects. Expect signature routines from the troupe and memorizing acrobatics. If you have ever seen a performance of Cirque du Soleil, you know that this tribute will surely stand out.
